Rumors about the next iteration of the Playstation Portable surfaced.
Rumors say Sony will announce a new generation of its portable device, the PSP 2.
Aside from the PSP Phone, portable gaming fans might see another generation of Sony’s popular gaming console, the Playstation Portable.
According to CNET, reports from websites VG247 and MCV claim Sony will be announcing the PSP 2 on January 27 in Tokyo, but the details about the release are still insufficient. Sony also declined to comment.
Some gaming sites claim PSP2 is like a portable version of Sony’s popular Playstation 3 console, based on the capability of the device to run games with high graphics and gameplay.
If true, PSP 2 will most likely compete with another portable gaming device, the Nintendo 3DS. The portable 3D device is scheduled to arrive in United States this quarter. Recently concluded Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada proclaimed the 3DS as the best gaming device, due to its capability of presenting games in three dimensional display without the use of glasses.
