Latest iPhone 5S (iPhone 6) Release Date Rumor Points To August
Article by: Raphael Labuguen – Whether it’s just the iPhone 5S or a super brand-new iPhone that will carry the iPhone 6 name, a new rumor is suggesting that Apple will start shipping the handset around August of this year.
As reported by a Forbes Blog quoting a news post by Apple Insider that quoted a Chinese blog (yes, there’s the connection), the iPhone 5S’s release date is scheduled August 2013 according to analysts at Barclays Capital. We need to take the date with a grain of salt because analysts are just predicting things, and besides, Apple’s new favorite month for iPhone release date is October.
Last year’s iPhone was launched October, and started picking up more customers by December especially in United States. If Apple wants to sell more devices this year, then it must release a new phone shortly after Samsung and HTC’s own launches to stop customers from “jumping ship.”
Samsung will reportedly start selling its Galaxy S4 right after its New York event this month, according to some reports, while the new HTC One flagship device of the Taiwan-based phone maker is poised to join the smartphone market by mid-March.
Apart from a new high-end smartphone, the rumor mill is also suggesting that Apple will launch a cheaper iPhone this year with polycarbonate body and a display with fewer pixels per inch. Some tech sites are calling the device the “iPhone Mini.” With a cheaper price tag, the rumored iPhone will take on inexpensive high-end Android handsets such as the Nexus 4 and the older, but still a monster Samsung Galaxy S3.
