Though it’s unconfirmed, Samsung Electronics is reportedly ready to compete with the long-rumored Apple iWatch — and it looks like the Korean tech giant will still use Android to lure customers. The so-called Samsung Galaxy Gear will be unveiled alongside the new version of Samsung Galaxy Note, multiple reports claim.
The Samsung smartphone is expected to feature synchronizing features tapping the power of any Android device, or just Samsung Android handsets. And similar to rival smart-watches, the Galaxy Gear will support apps with low-energy bluetooth support. Samsung is still not commenting about the rumor, but sources of other sites said that the device will be carried by wireless networks in United States and some of them will bundle the device with the new Galaxy Note 3.
In related news, Apple is also expected to unveil its own wearable device with iOS — allowing the 1 Infinite Loop-based tech giant to generate additional revenue, and to convince current users to stay with the iOS mobile operating system. Analysts believe that Apple started testing the “iWatch” last year. The iWatch might join the iPhone 5S event next month.
Apparently, Apple has declined to comment about the “iWatch” — but analysts are pretty confident that the watch will offer similar elements such as aluminum, tough touchscreen glass panel and flat design.
