Ahead of the scheduled August 1 Motorola Mobility event, seasons leaker Evleaks has posted another image of the purported Motorola X Phone, only this time, in white. The white variant was the exact same phone flaunted by Google’s Chairman and former CEO Eric Schmidt during the Allen & Co. technology conference in Sun Valley, Idaho.
The new handset is the first Motorola Mobility project watched by Google inc., so all its features are approved by the search giant which controls the Android mobile operating system. The handset is expected to run a slightly touched version of Android Jelly Bean 4.3 mobile operating system.
Leaks online suggested that Google’s Moto X Phone will offer a “mid-range” specs, however, newer articles posted on web claims that the Google X will compete with the Galaxy S4′s high-end hardware features, except for the display.
As reported by GSM Arena, the Moto X would offer a 4.7-inch LCD display with 720p resolution, a dual-core Qualcomm processor clocked at 1.7 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. The phone’s primary shooter is reportedly a 10.5 megapixel sensor, with a front-facing 2.1-megapixel camera partner. And unlike the GS4, the Moto X will offer a non-removable 2,100mAh battery and 16GB storage with no card slot for additional memory.
Can the Moto X outsell the Galaxy S4? Well, it can according to reports because the handset will take a lower $199 to $249 price point — off contract, and that’s more than 3 points below the unlocked price point of the GS4. Off contract, it is possible that the Moto X will take the free to $49.99 point.
