The white iPhone 4S is a popular phone, and Samsung wants to challenge it by offering a new phone powered by the latest version of Android.
Samsung vs Apple will continue this year, in fact, a new smartphone that will arrive this month strongly suggests that there’s a market for white phones.
Similar to the original Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Titanium Black Color, Samsung will launch a new breed of the Galaxy Nexus sporting the white color, the white Samsung Galaxy Nexus but here’s the catch, the phone’s bezel is still black.
According to multiple reports posted on the web, the white Samsung Galaxy Nexus variant will go on sale starting February 13th in the United Kingdom, and for other markets, third-party retailers are expected to offer the device bundled with the more expensive tag price of $700 after conversion, not bad actually.
The white Samsung Galaxy Nexus is powered by TI OMAP dual-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, includes a full 1GB of DDR2 RAM, supports Pentaband HSPA+ with faster downloads and uploads compared to 3G Android phones (including the white iPhone 4S) and the phone is equipped with two cameras, a 5-megapixel back facing and a front-facing camera that will allow customers to enjoy the improved Google Talk, Google Plus’ Hangouts, and other video chat applications available in the Android Market right now. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is also the first Android phone to ship with 720p HD Pentile screen with the Super AMOLED technology.
Also similar to the Titanium black version, the white Samsung Galaxy Nexus will ship with Android 4.0.2, the latest version of the mobile operating system for the Pentaband HSPA+ variant. New features of the Android 4.0.2 are bug fixes, better battery life and more stable user experience.
Apparently, the Google Wallet app is not yet available in the United Kingdom but for U.S. customers, you can purchase the unlocked version and slap an AT&T SIM, and download the application in the Android Market.
The unlocked iPhone 4S with 16GB on-board storage and the white Galaxy Nexus 16GB have the same tag price, £499.99.
