Call of Duty: Black Ops is the best-selling game of November 2010. Most of the sales likely came from Thanksgiving and Black Friday deals

Last month’s gaming sales data is a record breaker, according to a report.

November 2010′s gaming sales for both hardware and software is a record-breaker according to an Ars Technica report. The tech website is reporting that more than 4.5 million game consoles were sold just last month, obviously coming from sales from Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, the events considered as the golden week of retail.

For the hardware, Nintendo DS topped the list with 1.5 million units sold, followed by Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and another Nintendo product, the Wii. Sony’s Playstation has landed fourth, with sales not hitting million. Ars Technica’s list doesn’t include the PSP so it’s still not good enough to say that Sony products were not in demand last month.

And when it comes to software, games involving guys and ammo topped the list. The much-talked about “Call of Duty: Black Ops” tops the November 2010 sales chart with almost 8.4 million units sold. The second best performer is “Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood,” (360, PS 3) and the third spot is for ”Just Dance 2″ (Wii).

Surprisingly, two out of the top ten games are fitness-based games. Wii Fit Plus is the tenth best performer, according to the list. Looks like mama is also playing the games.

Another season that will likely give more gaming hardware and software games revenue boost is just around the corner. Most of early Christmas sales in the US now offer game discounts too. So, I’m expecting another round of record-breaking sales.
