A hint or just wrong interpretation?
Article written by Kevin Go – Following our previous post about Google and Motorola’s upcoming lovechild, the X Phone, a new round of buzz has been sparked by Motorola advisor, Guy Kawasaki, after posting an interesting Google Plus status related to smartphone personalization.
Indeed, a heavily subsidized smartphone with a $199 starting price is very enticing and will most likely attract a sizable user base, add to that the ability to equip it with your choice of hardware and you’ve got a killer smartphone that can certainly start a new trend in the ludicrous smartphone market. More details regarding the hardware is yet to be divulged but following the trend of high-end system-on-a-chip architecture, the Motorola X Phone will purportedly sport an eight-core processor wherein Motorola’s human language system can take advantage of.
Just like with desktop computers or personalized laptop hardware, users will be able to configure what hardware they can cram inside the X Phone’s chassis such as their desired internal storage space, color, RAM size, etc. from thereon, the device can be shipped to the user in as fast as a week according to numerous sources. Of course, the device is said to be available through Google’s Play Store portal.
We’ve also told you guys that Google is said to be focusing on improving the camera hardware on its upcoming Nexus smartphone which is confirmed by one of the internet search giant’s executives rumor has it that the Nexus 5 or [possibly] the X Phone will sport imaging hardware from Nikon, one of the legendary brands in the digital imaging industry.
To top it all off, it is highly possible that the X Phone will be running an unadulterated version of the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie which is expected to take its own space at the Google I/O event next quarter. Why not! Via.
