Article written by Kevin Go – Whenever I hear the words “PlayStation” and “Sony Computer Entertainment”, there’s this sudden sense of nostalgia that hits me and for some reason, I can’t help myself from visualizing what it would be like to play games such as Einhander, Armored Core, Vigilante, Twisted Metal and Parasite Eve on the PlayStation 4.

Wouldn’t it be great of we could relive the glory days with better, graphically intense remakes of those games I’ve mentioned?

Out of the five titles, my number one choice would probably be “Parasite Eve” from Square Enix, the last installment to the Parasite Eve franchise, The 3rd Birthday, was undeniably a big hit with sales numbers reaching over 400,000 copies globally, this is rather cheesy but the thought of shifting ["overdiving"] from one body to another and having supernatural powers like pyrokinesis was rather thrilling. Also, the face of Aya Brea is somehow ingrained in my brain, so is killing weird neo-mitochondrial monsters, getting lost inside the laboratory, witnessing Eve progress into a ‘Ultimate Being’ while playing the piano… sigh.

To rub salt to the wound, the only reason why I bought a PlayStation Portable back then was to experience The Third Birthday myself. No judging please, I’m not the only classic game junkie here, our Editor-in-Chief Carlo Diokno only bought a Wii U just to play Mario — let’s keep that as our own little secret shall we?

The PlayStation 4 packs very powerful innards so its graphical processing powers shouldn’t be a problem right? Besides, I’m pretty sure that most of the games I’ve mentioned earlier have a sizable number of fanbase so it wouldn’t hurt for Sony to take advantage of that. It would be insane for Sony or other game developers not to launch remakes of classic PS titles.
