Ahead of HTC One Release Date, Sony’s Post-Xperia Z Device Leaks

Article by: Kevin Go – The water and dust-loving Sony Xperia Z has not even officially hit U.S. shores and now it’s about become outdated? Another [unsurprising and] classic move done by Sony Mobile — launching one flagship after another, has the Japanese smartphone maker really learned its lesson?

sony-xperia-z-successor-vs-htc-one-release-date-rumorsSpecs of a mysterious Sony smartphone dubbed as the ‘Xperia C670X’ has just been leaked, it features innards that closely resemble that of HTC’s newly-released One or M7 smartphone like the 4.8-inch full high-definition display and the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro’s successor, the Snapdragon 600 that’s clocked at 1.8 gigahertz. For comparison, the Xperia Z has a 5-inch full HD Reality display with Mobile Bravia Engine 2.0 enhancement alongside the aforementioned quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro (1.5 gigahertz) chip paired with two gigabytes of low-power DDR2 memory.

We should mention that the Snapdragon 600 ticker’s slightly tweaked Adreno 320 graphics processor alone should give the C670X the necessary ‘oomph’ it needs to keep the skinned Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system running smoothly given the extra graphical payload that its pixel-rich display imposes, also, the C670X will purportedly come with a the same 13-megapixel Exmor RS-toting camera found on the back of the Xperia Z as well as twice the amount of built-in storage.

The HTC One on the other hand is powered by a [minutely] slower 1.7 gigahertz Snapdragon 600 chip alongside two gigabytes of RAM so the C670X should lead be able to score a little bit higher in benchmarks compared to its Taiwanese counterpart but the 100 megahertz difference in core speed is unnoticeable in real life.

Sony should concentrate on numerous bells and whistles that it should incorporate in its next-gen super phone, the HTC One boasts a plethora of features such as an Aluminum/Polycarbonate hybrid shell, the ‘Boom Sound’ stereo speakers, dual amplifiers, Beats audio enhancement, enhanced in-call noise suppression and the much buzzed-about HTC ‘Zoe’ in order to capture the public’s attention, consumers don’t want “Another Sony flagship”, Sony should also consider letting the Xperia Z ‘settle in’ before introducing a new handset so as to keep new Xperia Z owners from running amok.

The C670x is purportedly set for debut this summer. Source.
