No Plants vs Zombies 2 for Android, PC Windows and Mac OS X planned, yet
July 10, 2013, 4:22pm EST — Sadly for Android, PC and Mac OS X users, Electronic Arts is not planning to expand its new Plants vs Zombies yet — a gamble that could lead to lower MAU or monthly active users.
Let’s discuss this further by using a “profitable” example: Candy Crush Saga — the revenue stream Bejeweled knock-off that’s now raking-in millions in revenue just by offering the game on both platforms apart from the desktop Facebook version.
Electronic Arts and Popcap’s strategy with its new Plants vs Zombies game is so traditional, very 2009, and launching a game exclusively on one platform clearly shows Electronic Arts’ inability to expand on mobile space. Eventually, the new PVZ will join Android and even PC and Mac platforms, but not sharing release date shows messiness.
The company is now testing its new game in Australia and New Zealand and launched the app on iTunes Store (Apple App Store), according to Polygon. Evidently, more markets are expected to follow — including the United States.
