Ice Cream SandwichGingerbread found inside Honeycomb tablet operating system version of Google. Ice Cream Sandwich imminent.

Looks like Android’s tablet and mobile operating system will collide as soon as expected.

According to Engadget, YouTube user Graffix0214 posted a video in the popular video sharing site, showing off the Android Gingerbread UI hidden inside the stock Honeycomb operating system version. The uploader of the video used a rooted Dell Streak 7 tablet.

Graffix0214 has discovered that modifying the pixel density (ppi) from 160 to higher greater than 170 value will transform your rooted Honeycomb-based tablet into a Gingerbread, smartphone-like tablet that includes a phone app.

Hmm, I wonder if the Gingerbread UI hidden inside Honeycomb will allow phone calls. Basically, Gingerbread operating system are for smartphones, so a phone app is actually requirement, while the Honeycomb version is for tablets that work like a PC, and not a phone.

Apparently, Google recently revealed that Android for smartphones and Android for tablets will be sharing the same build with next operating system version called Ice Cream Sandwich.
