HTC’s latest flagship Google Android device, the HTC One (HTC M7) is now up for pre-order on popular online retail stores with the expected “early adopter” price tag.
As of Wednesday, the HTC One Unlocked is cheaper than the BlackBerry Z10 and the Nokia Lumia 920. Surprisingly, the handset is also available in two colors on release date according to online retailers.
At Expansys United Kingdom, the unlocked HTC One with 32GB on-board storage is priced at $787 after conversion. At Negri Electronics, the 32GB HTC One is cheaper with $735 price tag, both the black and the silver/white model while the 64GB models sport $898 asking price.
Meanwhile, Clove in the UK said in its product page that the phone will start shipping on the 15th of March. The online retailer will charge you $776 for the 32GB model.
For starters, unlocked models are compatible with any GSM SIM cards. For the HTC One (M7), the device requires a micro-SIM card, similar to iPhone 4S and Samsung Galaxy S3′s SIM card slot size. For customers in the United States, all major wireless carriers will offer the handset sometime next quarter, except for Verizon Wireless — for now. Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile USA will offer the HTC One with 4G LTE or Long Term Evolution.
HTC One, formerly called the HTC M7, is the Taiwan-based phone maker’s latest flagship Android handset. It will compete with Samsung’s upcoming flagship phone, the Samsung Galaxy S4, and the new Sony Xperia Z. It is also safe to say that the highly-spec’d HTC One will vie for top smartphone of 2013 with Apple’s rumored iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 and a slew of other Android handsets.
The HTC One (M7) is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 600 or the Snapdragon S4 Pro Plus quad-core processor. It also ships with 2GB RAM, 32 or 64GB of on-board storage, 2300 mAh non-removable battery, a 4.7-inch 1080p touchscreen display with more than 440 pixels per inch, a 4MP “Ultrapixel” back-facing camera, a front-facing 2.1-megapixel camera and Android Jelly Bean 4.1 with the latest version of HTC Sense.
