Unlocked BlackBerry Z10 comes with expensive price tag

Can’t wait for the Verizon, Sprint, AT&T or T-Mobile BlackBerry Z10? Well, here’s the latest news from the formerly-called-RIM news grind — the unlocked BB Z10, but with expensive price.

Feb 11, 2013, 12:30 P.M. MONDAY. Article by: Kevin Go – BlackBerry’s flagship full-touch device, the Z10, is not supposed to land on U.S. shores until March but it appears that one of  the many underdog wireless carriers in the country is able to offer this BlackBerry 10-toting super phone ahead of its bigger competitors.

Don’t get carried away though, Solavei is selling the QNX-powered smartphone for a hefty sum of ‘just’ $999, unlocked and, of course, obviously unsubsidized. That’s enough Benjamins to buy yourself a brand new 128 gigabyte version of the recently released Microsoft Surface Pro tablet — that’s been selling like pancakes.

Unlocked BlackBerry Z10It’s worth noting that deals from various online retailers selling the BlackBerry Z10 are certainly more attractive with prices starting at a slightly cheaper $840, some may even offer it for less.

In case you guys are unaware, Solavei is a mobile virtual network operator just like Virgin Mobile, the former takes advantage of T-Mobile’s GSM, EDGE, UMTS or HSPA+ radios. Solavei currently offers unlimited SMS, voice and mobile data for a very sweet deal of just $49 a month — all without being tied to the carrier for two years.

In case you guys are wondering how Solavei’s MVNO tactic works, here’s an excerpt from the company’s press release: “Solavei is a cost-effective mobile phone service with no obligation to share or sign up others. Members who choose to share the Solavei Mobile Service with others through its social commerce platform can use the money to offset their monthly bill and even have the opportunity to generate recurring monthly income.”
