BlackBerry’s Z10 unlocked still MIA online, but BB sales in UK off to “strong start”

If to be believed, the BlackBerry Z10 is off to a “strong start” based on the latest research note by an analyst. The unlocked BB Z10 will won’t hit online stores for US and international shipping until March of this year.

Article by: Carlo Raphael Diokno – The BlackBerry Z10 with BB 10 mobile operating system is here, well, at least in the United Kingdom with carrier bundles or “SIM Free.” As reported by Forbes, the new full-touch BlackBerry handset is off to a good start and early sales estimate, according to an analyst.

Jefferies & Company analyst Peter Misek said in his note that some stores that offer the former Research in Motion’s new product had “lines with widespread sell outs of the WHITE model — take note, he believes that the white BB Z10 is more popular than the Black variant.

Carphone Warehouse is also seeing strong BB Z10 sales, apart from wireless carriers such as Vodafone, Orange and EE that are also receiving many orders. Misek estimates that days after the BlackBerry phone’s launch date in the United Kingdom, BlackBerry already attracted at least several hundred thousand Z10 buyers.

Speaking of sales, online retailers say that the first stock of BlackBerry Z10 with unlocked SIM card slot will arrive in March. Clove in the United Kingdom is already accepting pre-orders for the Z10 with $830 price tag plus additional fees.

The BlackBerry Z10 is the first BB 10 smartphone with full-touchscreen, while the BB Q10 retains BlackBerry’s popular physical QWERTY keyboard. The BB Z10 is powered by Qualcomm dual-core processor and 2GB RAM. The Z10 offers 16GB of on-board storage, an 8-megapixel primary camera, a front-facing video chat camera and a 4.2-inch LCD display with more than 350 pixels per inch — beating other top smartphones like the iPhone 5, the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Google Nexus 4.
