Windows 8 rumor: Microsoft Surface 2 already in the works?
August 9, 2012, 2:20 A.M. New York local time — Microsoft already building the next version of the Microsoft Surface Windows 8 tablet computer?
The Redmond-based software giant, Microsoft, shocked the world and its PC partners after announcing the Windows 8 tablet computers that will carry the company’s brand name, the Microsoft Surface. Rumors are suggesting that Microsoft will start selling the tablet PCs by the end of October, specifically on October 26th alongside the release of the new Windows 8 operating system.
Ahead of the rumored launch, Microsoft is thought to be building the next version of the Surface tablet already, and according to a TechRadar report, Microsoft is on a hiring spree and evidences are available on the company’s career website.
The UK-based tech blog site is claiming that the career ads mention a “fast-paced product development cycles” whilst adding that new employees will work with the company’s team behind “desirable and powerful devices” and so on..
The new Microsoft Surface will introduce two models, and the first device to arrive is equipped with ARM-based processors. Leaks suggest that the Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 RT and ARM processor will vie with Apple’s iPad sporting the $499 to $599 price tags.
Meanwhile, the top-end version of the Microsoft Surface will ship with Intel’s Ivy Bridge processor and the Windows 8 Pro version.
