Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich (T-Mobile) coming next month?

April 29th, 2012, 5:34 P.M.Samsung Galaxy S2 of T-Mobile USA getting the much-needed Android Ice Cream Sandwich update on May 14th, 2012, according to a leak posted online.

Another 411 involving the Samsung Galaxy S2 appeared last week courtesy of TmoNews, claiming that T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy S2 is next in line to get the much-anticipated Android Ice Cream Sandwich or ICS update, and the leaked document is suggesting that the OTA or over-the-air software upgrade will hit phones on May 14th.

Android Ice Cream Sandwich is the latest and best Android version yet, with new features like Face Unlock, new multitasking user interface, Chrome for Android support, new native web browser, and improved settings application which includes the new data management setting that can track the phone’s network data, from 3G to WiFi.

The Samsung Galaxy S2, according to research firms, is the most popular Android smartphone of 2011, and due to T-Mobile’s iPhone-less lineup, the Samsung Galaxy S2 was the carrier’s “most popular” smartphone last year, beating rivals like the HTC Sensation 4G and the HTC Amaze 4G.

Speaking of HTC’s 2011 Android phones, the Amaze 4G and the Sensation 4G with T-Mobile branding are also bound to receive Android Ice Cream Sandwich, but on June 16. HTC’s latest phone, the HTC One X (not on T-Mobile’s network), is running Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, and features a quad-core CPU (international), a new camera sensor, and a larger screen with more pixels per inch.
