iPad 3 release date related, first evidence of quad-core CPU leaked?

Rumors say the iPad 3 might arrive this month or early next month, and specs-related rumors follow.

If the rumors are to be believed, then the iPad 3 will arrive this month or early March, so to maintain the momentum, a new iPad 3 rumor touches the specs topic. Similar to last year’s rumors, the freshly baked iPad gossip is suggesting that it will include the latest version of Apple-branded CPU, the A6.

According to BGR, an unnamed source who is in possession of the iPad 3 prototype confirmed to them, with attached images, that the iPad 3 will ship with a new processor. No mention of the A6, but the source who obviously requested anonymity has provided the tech site with photos of alleged iPad 3′s iBoot output that mentioned the code S5L8945X, and according to BGR it is the A6 quad-core CPU running inside the iPad 3.

This month, Bloomberg started the quad-core iPad 3 rumor with the information from “sources familiar with the product,” adding that aside from the faster processor that will support graphically intense gaming apps and other iOS-based applications, the new iPad 3 is reportedly shipping with Long-Term Evolution technology, and it will allow users to enjoy a faster internet connection through wireless carriers.

It is worth noting that Android tablets in United States, like the Galaxy Tab of Verizon or the HTC Jetstream of AT&T, are already offering the Long-Term Evolution, so an iPad 3 with LTE is highly possible in United States.

Speaking of Bloomberg’s iPad 3 note, the new tablet computer with LTE and A6 CPU is expected to get a March release date.
