iPad 3 vs Galaxy Note? Release date and price tipped

Samsung to use the Galaxy Note against the iPad 3? Release date of the big phone tipped.

While the iPad 3 rumors and release date reports circulate online, Samsung’s popular phone slash tablet is also gaining attention due to its unique feature, a 5.3-inch Super AMOLED HD screen and with Stylus “S Pen” that users can take advantage of.

Well, rumor has it that Apple will announce the iPad 3 next month, and the new Apple tablet computer might go on sale in March. Arguably, Apple’s biggest tablet rival is Samsung with its Galaxy Tab lineup, but it looks like the South Korea-based company will use something smaller to compete against the iPad 3 (if the iPad 3 is true).

According to a new report posted by BGR, AT&T’s Long-Term Evolution Samsung Galaxy Note will start arriving in stores next month, specifically on February 18th sporting the tag price of $299.99 with the 2-year contract agreement. It is worth noting that the date and price is currently considered as a “rumor” but BGR is a known AT&T smartphone source based on its previous leaks.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is a phone, but due to its larger 5.3-inch screen, it is also considered by many as the smallest “tablet” in the market right now. Apparently, Samsung is claiming that the Galaxy Note is the device that sits between the category of the smaller-sized smartphone and a large 10-inch tablet. Here’s a little mathematical equation, current Android devices have at least 4 to 4.5-inch screens, while Android tablet computers offer 8 to 10-inch screen/s.

Samsung is also selling 7-inch tablet computers, the 7.7 and the second-generation Galaxy Tab with 7-inch screen, but it is too big to attract smartphone buyers, while the 5.3-inch screen is “just right” if the customer wants a smartphone with “bigger” screen.

Rumors say the iPad 3 might include a quad-core CPU, a powerful back camera, a high-res screen and LTE, but it looks like the Galaxy Note is already offering the features except the quad-core CPU.
