Verizon Galaxy Nexus (and not Droid RAZR) is drawing crowds

Customers in Boston lined-up outside a Verizon Wireless store due to Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

Verizon Wireless told Reuters last month that the company will focus on the Motorola Droid RAZR, adding that the smartphone will get a “tremendous advertising weight” this quarter. Apparently, Verizon bombarded our TV sets with Droid RAZR ads featuring robotic-esque stye of attracting customers.

After releasing the phone last month, Verizon and Motorola, again, unveils the white Droid RAZR variant which debuted on Thursday alongside a non-Droid phone.

And the Android fans have spoken, they want the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone with the 4G LTE flavor.

A report posted by Phandroid has confirmed that customers lined up outside a Boston Verizon Wireless store early Thursday for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. The report also includes photo taken by one of the customers adding that the new Samsung phone is “drawing a crowd,” similar to iPhone 4S launch, likely.

It is also worth noting that Verizon Wireless is currently running a promo to attract more Droid RAZR customers, an instant $100 off the Motorola DROID XyBoard tablet with the purchase of a white DROID RAZR with the new two-year contract bundle.

Speaking of Droid-ing, Google publishes new advertisements to promote the Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.0. The new ads, one showing-off the Face Unlock feature, and one sporting the Google+ Hangouts feature, have no robots whatsoever.
