iPad 3 release date in February?

An analyst is claiming that Apple will release the iPad 3 early next year, and he means.. really early.

Rumors galore, one analyst says the iPad 3 will get a February release date. Happy Valentines Apple tablet?

For starters, the iPad 2 was released in April of this year that followed the Apple’s yearly cycles. According to Apple’s device cycle history, iPads arrive by April like the iPad 2 and the original iPad that debuted April 3, 2010 here in United States.

Fast forward, next year also means a new iPad from Cupertino. But wait, the next iPad will not arrive in April?

If a Citi analyst’s statement is true, then the next iPad or the so-called iPad 3 will arrive in February or 2 months ahead of the traditional April release. A bit too early?

iPad 3 rumors

According to Citi analyst Richard Gardner in a note on Thursday, Apple’s new iPad 3 will get a February release date but no word on the exact release date, apparently. Mr. Gardner is claiming that “several sources” have given the information and yes, the next iPad is reportedly better than the current version.

Citi’s analyst said the iPad 3 will include better screen (or touchscreen LCD) with “double the resolution of the current model.” We should take this new claim with a grain of salt.

Apparently, Apple is facing serious rivals and the competition will also arrive early next year. One of which is the Kindle Fire which is rumored to get a new variant with larger 8.9-inch screen. Google is also introducing a new operating system, the Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and new devices coming from either Samsung, Motorola, HTC and other Android manufacturers are expected to tap the new, and more intuitive operating system.
