iPhone 5, 4S release date rumors, Sprint LTE connection

Ahead of the expected iPhone 4S or iPhone 5 unveiling, leak suggests new phone now in Apple’s inventory. Plus, Sprint’s LTE plan outed, the real iPhone 5 connection?

iPhone 5, or iPhone 4S rumors continue. The latest is from 9to5Mac claiming that the device named “iPhone 4S” is now in the Apple inventory system, indirectly suggesting that no iPhone 5 will arrive this year and the phone that will debut on October 4 is just the 4S or slightly modified version of the iPhone 4, Apple’s most popular smartphone released last year. The leak shows the iPhone 4S White version with 16GB of on board storage is sporting the code MD239F/A.

The iPhone 4S is one of the many rumors circulating on the internet. In fact, other rumors suggest that Apple will introduce two smartphones next week, the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4S, and the iPhone 4S will be the new entry-level iPhone sporting the cheaper tag price, and the smartphone will focus on iCloud due to less onboard storage.

iPhone 5, or iPhone 4S rumors continue.

iPhone 5, or iPhone 4S rumors continue.

Still according to rumor mill, the next iPhone, whether it is the iPhone 5 or the iPhone 4S will include the A5 chip, Apple’s dual-core processor (iPad 2′s processor), 8-megapixel primary camera, and full 1GB of RAM. The 1GB of RAM rumor is one of the newest, and was based on the voice recognition rumor.

Additional rumors also suggest that the next iPhone will not feature LTE or Long Term Evolution and just HSPA+, the faster data connectivity with theoretical speed of 21Mbps to 42Mbps depending on the wireless carrier. Apparently, T-Mobile will not offer the next iPhone, while Sprint Nextel will to join the Apple smartphone ecosystem this year.

Speaking of Sprint Nextel, reports say the third-largest US wireless carrier will unveil its LTE network next year, 2012, suggesting that the next iPhone (iPhone 5 or iPhone 6), will include LTE radio. Reports say Sprint Nextel is already building its LTE network and will begin testing the new wireless technology early next year. If the rumors come to pass, Sprint, together with AT&T and Verizon are all getting an LTE iPhone next year.

The iPhone 6 rumors also say that the phone will feature NFC or Near Field Communication. NFC is the technology being used by Google Wallet, the search engine giants new wave and pay service allowing Citi Mastercard users (and other credit card users via Google Prepaid) to pay by using a Nexus S 4G.

These rumors (especially the NFC and LTE) should be taken with a grain of salt, and we need to wait for the October 4 Apple announcement to see if the next iPhone will not include LTE and NFC.
