Droid Bionic release date rumor, Twitter and Motorola “buy” page
Motorola Droid Bionic may arrive on September 8th, but Verizon denies Twitter account.
Summary: A new revealed that Verizon doesn’t own the Droid Bionic Twitter account. Plus, the phone’s September 8 release date highly possible, but the Motorola store leaked online temporarily deactivated.
A new report posted by CNET on Monday revealed that the Twitter account @DroidBionic is not owned or managed by Verizon Wireless, the carrier that will launch the device, and Motorola Mobility, the manufacturer of the first dual-core LTE Android device of the US carrier.
The Twitter account apparently proclaimed that the Motorola Droid Bionic will hit stores on September 8, most likely related to recent leaks provided by tech blogs and websites. Earlier reports have suggested that Verizon’s first Motorola LTE “Droid” phone will compete against Samsung’s most popular Android device, the Galaxy S 2 branded as the Samsung Epic Touch 4G, which is also rumored to hit the US smartphone market on the 8th of September.
Meanwhile, Motorola has decided to temporarily deactivate the Motorola Droid Bionic store page that was outed by Droid Life. Surprisingly, the page was the source of the images that we exclusively posted last week unveiling the thickness of the phone, as well as the first press shot of the Droid Bionic that sported the “DroidEye” brand.
Motorola Mobility already assured the public that the Motorola Droid Bionic will arrive in September, and will include accessories that are similar to Motorola Atrix’s like the LapDock, etc.
Motorola also added that the Droid Bionic will be the first dual-core Android smartphone of Verizon Wireless that will include the 4G Long Term Evolution connectivity. However, multiple rumors have suggested that Samsung, HTC and LG may unveil their own dual-core Android smartphones this year too.
According to the mill, HTC is preparing for its phone with codename “Vigor” that could include 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Samsung’s with its Celox and LG with its rumored LG Revolution2. All these phones are still considered as “rumors” and must be taken with a grain of salt.
