Samsung Galaxy S2 aka Hercules for T-Mobile USA spotted
Samsung Galaxy S2 release date/s in United States just around the corner.
New Samsung Galaxy S2 GSM variant for United States smartphone market spotted.
Samsung Hercules with Google Android OS inside is now good as “official,” and will arrive in United States soon based on the new leak posted by unofficial T-Mobile blog TmoNews.
Apparently the Hercules is not a new smartphone, but a variant of the popular Samsung Galaxy S2 that is expected to arrive in the country this month. Reports and rumors about the Hercules started last quarter, and according to an old article posted by This is my Next three months ago, the Samsung Hercules is packed with a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060 processor, and 4G (HSPA+) connectivity with theoretical speed of 42 Mbps.
Under the hood, Hercules is reportedly packed with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage and Android 2.3 with TouchWiz 4.0 UI, and This is My Next had added that the screen size of the phone is 4.5-inch with 800 x 480 Super AMOLED Plus display, and could resemble the design of AT&T’s Samsung Infuse 4G. Surprisingly, most of the specs mentioned by the site is accurate, except for the 4.5 inches screen (if our own calculation using the photo is wrong). However, TmoNews is claiming that the screen is 4.5 inches.

The design of the Samsung Galaxy S2 for T-Mobile also resembles the design of the Google Nexus S, from its curved edges to the “more black” external design. The site that has leaked the photos of Hercules/Galaxy S2 of T-Mobile also added that the phone will be pre-installed with Netflix for Android application, and some Google apps that are “better” than the vanilla stock version.
Aside from T-Mobile, the other major carriers in United States are also expected to release their own Samsung Galaxy S2. In fact, Sprint’s version is the first to unofficially flaunt its body on the internet. Verizon is also expected to carry the Samsung Galaxy S2, and new rumors are saying that the Samsung Stratosphere listed in the leak posted by sites last week is the carrier’s Galaxy S2 variant.
Samsung Galaxy S2 is the most popular smartphone of the Korean-based OEM Samsung Mobile. In fact, industry sources in Asia have confirmed that Samsung is now enjoying a 6 to 7 million Galaxy S2 sales as of July 30th. Samsung has declined to comment if the new leak is the Galaxy S2 for T-Mobile or not.
