Soon, Google Plus login first before searching or reading news
Google Plus can change the whole search engine business of Google.
Google is now enjoying the popularity of Google Plus, and it could change the overall image of Google as a website.
Google, the biggest search engine in the world, and most visited website in United Kingdom and other parts of the world, will soon change its image unintentionally, especially if the trend will continue.
Apparently, Google is now enjoying the early popularity of Google+, the 2-week old social networking site that is deeply integrated in the search engine’s website, and will soon power other Google products including Google’s popular free e-mail service GMail, and other products and services like Android and Blogger. Google already implemented Picasa inside Google+, with a feature that automatically syncs all your Picasa-saved photos inside Google Plus if you’re already a member.
After registering to Google Plus, all your Picasa images will automatically join your Google Plus image storage, so no syncing or annoying move-to guides required. On top of that, you can also edit your Picasa photos inside Google Plus, and post it publicly or in one of your circles, or you can also use it as your profile picture. This new implementation alone changed the image of Picasa — from Google’s dedicated online photo storage, into a branch-only of Google Plus.
Aside from Picasa, Blogger is also “in trouble,” and could soon get an axe from Larry Page and co. if Google Plus will continue to gain control. Why? Well, some bloggers love Google Plus because of the amount of responses that their posts are getting. One of the best examples is Digg founder and popular internet entrepreneur Kevin Rose who configured his domain to point to his Google Plus account. Rose is now blogging using his Google Plus, and now enjoying more attention from internet lovers. Rose is now enjoying a total of 42,000 plus Google Plus “circles” that re-shares, “+1s” and comments on his posts.
Of course, one of the remaining advantage of Google’s Blogger is its money-making feature, because it can display Adsense codes and a blogger can earn money from it. But what if Google tweaks Google Plus, and will run an Adsense program for Google Plus bloggers? Bam, another business advantage for both Google and Bloggers.
Google Plus is also theoretically influencing the search results now with the Google Plus One button, in fact, Google Plus One’s influence in search is now the biggest topic in the SEO forums and articles. According to ReadWriteWeb, it’s still to early to tell if Google Plus will soon change the SEO game, but “Google’s new social product can help pages get indexed,” based on the experiment made by SEOMoz’s Rand Fishkin.
But aside from Picasa, Blogger, SEO and other Google Products, the overall image of Google as a website may soon get an unintentional change, and that is from search engine to social networking site.
Imagine one day, majority of Google visitors will login to Google Plus first before reading Google News or doing everyday search activities because they want to check if mom is online or dad already posted last night’s pictures. Taken from Google CEO Larry Page’s statement yesterday, Google Plus’s goal is to “make sharing on the web like sharing in real life, as well as to improve the overall Google experience.” So straight from Google CEO, his goal is to change the internet user’s habit from searching first, to socializing first before searching.
