Nokia Lumia 920, 820 wireless chargers price tags unveiled by online retailers
October 12, 2012, 11:24 A.M., Friday, New York local time — Nokia’s wireless charging accessories priced. Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820′s compatible wireless pads will start shipping next month, third-party retailers have confirmed.
One of the top features of the new Nokia Lumia 920 (and the 820) is its wireless charging accessories. Today, third-party retailers have confirmed via e-mail that the much-anticipated wireless charging lineup for the new Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 will start shipping next month, and all models are now offering price tags.
The shell requirement for wireless charging costs US$35 plus shipping and taxes, while the official Nokia Lumia charging plate is sporting the tag price of $74 plus additional fees for freight and government taxes. It is worth noting that prices may rise or slide depending on availability and demand.
Surprisingly, Fatboy’s alternative charging plate is more expensive than the official Nokia Lumia 920/820 charging kit. According to a source from a UK-based online phone retailer, the stylish charging “pillow” costs $108 (United States dollars) plus shipping, handling and taxes.
Speaking of shipping, the phone itself, the Nokia Lumia 920, will arrive next month. For the unlocked Nokia Lumia 920, our source from third-party retailers have confirmed that the cheapest model with 32GB capacity will sport the tag price of $800 off-contract. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is just $600, unlocked and off-contract. No word yet from Nokia if it will offer a cheaper version later this year. Meanwhile, the Nokia Lumia 820 is priced at $600.
The Nokia Lumia 920 is the flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone of the Finland-based phone maker. According to Nokia and Microsoft, the Lumia 920 and other Windows Phone 8 handsets will begin shipping next month. AT&T will offer the Nokia Lumia 920 on contract exclusively beginning next month.
The Lumia 920 is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 32GB storage and features a large 4.5-inch HD touchscreen, 8.7-megapixel PureView camera, front-facing camera and Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system out of the box.
