Samsung Galaxy S2 II Plus is the GT-I9220?
A new Samsung roadmap leak suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S II Plus is coming.
Summary: A new report confirms our exclusive report about the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus, or the so-called new breed of Samsung Galaxy phone with 1.4 GHz dual-core processor and a high-resolution 4.3 inch touchscreen.
A new report (considered as a rumor) posted by GSM Arena on Thursday confirms that Samsung Galaxy S II Plus or the Galaxy S2 variant with better screen resolution and faster processor is coming soon. According to the report, a leaked Samsung smartphone roadmap suggests that a phone with codename GT-I9220 will include a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread, 8 megapixel back camera and the 1.4 Ghz dual-core processor.
Apparently, our source suggested that the new Samsung phone could use the “Galaxy S II Plus” branding, or will change the name of the phone to drop the “Galaxy” branding. Either way, the Galaxy S II Plus is expected to deliver faster application and user interface experience with the 1.4 GHz processor with 2 cores. Our source adds that the 1.4 GHz processor will still use the Exynos branding.
The current version of the Samsung Galaxy S II is powered by 1.2 GHz dual-core Exynos processor, 8 megapixel back camera, 2 megapixel front camera, 1 GB of RAM, a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus screen with a resolution of 480 x 800, and Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 with the new TouchWiz user interface out of the box.
Speaking of the original Samsung Galaxy S2, the much-anticipated device is expected to arrive in USA next month, and Samsung Mobile is expected to officially announce all its variants by the end of this month. The last sales report of Samsung revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S II is the most popular smartphone of the Android manufacturer to date, boasting 6 million units sold in less than 3 months. The number could increase in September and October courtesy of US carriers like Sprint and T-Mobile that are poised to introduce their very own Galaxy S2.
