iPhone 5 release date and features tipped again

New report says the iPhone 5 will ship with “similar sized screen (around 3.5-inch), LTE, and new micro dock connector. So, now 4.6-inch screen?

This week, Reuters reported that a  South Korean-based newspaper outed the latest version of the iPhone will come this year as expected, but with a new screen, a larger 4.6-inch screen. However, one report points to an opposite direction that the Apple fan boys will surely hate.

A new rumor posted by Android Central’s iMore beg to disagree. In fact, the site is claiming that the next iPhone, or the iPhone 5, will still ship with “Similar if not same sized screen (currently 3.5-inch but not set in stone),” so, no big improvement in the screen department?

The site’s reporter said they started to hear more info about the new iPhone, revealing that Apple is now working on a smaller dock connector or “micro dock” to accommodate more components.

He also added that the next iPhone will support LTE, which is arguably obvious because the new iPad supports it, and apparently, the technology and the components to create an LTE iPhone are already available.

iMore also confirmed the Fall release date of the iPhone 5, similar to last year’s iPhone 4S, this info is highly agreeable because a fall iPhone 5 release date is very strategic because it will allow the company to promote and market its new MacBooks and Mac OS X properly.

The site added:

We’ve mentioned October 2012 as the current release schedule for iPhone 5,1 before and it sounds like that’s still the plan. The exact date almost certainly won’t be determined until it gets closer to launch, but the iPhone sounds locked to a fall cycle for the immediate future.

Apple’s new iPad with LTE is supported by AT&T and Verizon Wireless here in United States, and the next iPhone is also expected to join the two wireless provides if the new rumor is accurate. Sprint on the other hand is scheduled to launch its own LTE network this year, so we might also see a yellow version of the iPhone 5.
