iPhone 5 and HTC Thunderbolt “not affecting” Verizon Apple smartphone sales?
iPhone 5 (and powerful Android phones) the reason behind “slow” Verizon iPhone sales? Carrier says sales “strong.”
Reports are now available on the internet talking about the poor Verizon iPhone sales based on the number of reported figures, like one posted by BGR saying that first-wave sales of the CDMA iPhone “fail to meet expectations,” quoting sales figure sent by one of their Apple sources. Is it possible that iPhone 5 killed the Verizon iPhone?
The report also noted that some of the Verizon iPhone customers are coming from Android (customers), and some from BlackBerry (customers), but least from new buyers. Apparently, most of the consumers out there are aware that iPhone 5 (and already have the iPhone 4 from AT&T) and will wait for the iPhone 5 to arrive this year.
There’s also a possibility that some customers have decided to wait for Android smartphones like HTC Thunderbolt, and Motorola Droid Bionic (which are 4G/LTE phones, unlike the iPhone 4 which is a 3G/CDMA phone only).
But Verizon Wireless is dismissing the rumor, and even told WSJ that sales of the CDMA iPhone 4 is “strong,” and most of the sales are coming from “online” orders. So, these customers don’t care about the iPhone 5 and HTC Thunderbolt? Sounds interesting. Verizon’s CEO also added that if they “had not done online (sales), you would have seen a much different flow in the pictures.”
Are you convinced that Verizon is enjoying strong iPhone 4 sales? Or are you one of the costumers waiting for the iPhone 5 or HTC Thunderbolt and other powerful Android smartphones scheduled to arrive this year?
