iPad Mini 2 Retina rumors arrive alongside release date reports

Feb 06, 2013, 8:05 A.M., WEDNESDAY. Article by: Carlo Raphael Diokno – While we’re still waiting for the iPad Mini 2 release date announcement coming straight from Apple (definitely this year), reports online about the unannounced smaller iPad doubled courtesy of the article coming from Chinese website My Drivers.

The foreign site is claiming that the iPad Mini 2′s Retina display is far better than the iPad 4′s Retina toting 9.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display. It sounds old and recycled article, but it matches the Retina-iPad-Mini reports that were posted by multiple tech sites last year about the AU Optronics connection. Plus, the Retina MacBook Pro rumors started in China too if I’m not mistaken — so maybe, Apple is really building a killer small iPad to outsell its rivals such as the Google Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire HD.

The latest rumor claims that the iPad Mini 2 will offer a 7.9-inch, measured diagonally, touchscreen display with resolution display of 2,048×1,536, for comparison, the rumored device will offer a display with double the resolution of “older” iPad Mini.

The release date of the iPad Mini 2 with Retina display is still unknown, or if Apple will announce something in March or April, the original launch months of iPads.

Apple is definitely going Retina, from the Macbook Pro, the iPad, the iPhones and hopefully the smaller and more pocketable iPad Mini.
