Apple outs new iPad 4 variant, price and release date revealed
iPad 4 with 128GB of on-board storage announced by Apple, targets business users. But apart from businessmen and business establishment, the new iPad might attract movie lovers too.
Jan 30, 2013, 4:00 A.M., Wednesday. Article by: Kevin Go – Apple has always been recognized [and prized] for outing products that are often only refreshed at least every 10 months or so which imposes confidence into the minds of Apple iFans thinking that their iPads, Macs or iPods will stay relevant for at least a year or two unlike their Android and PC counterparts.
Unfortunately, just six short months after the “New iPad” or iPad 3 was introduced, out came the iPad 4 alongside the iPad Mini, this enraged handfuls of new iPad 3 owners, some even demanded for an upgrade/replacement for their newly-bought-and-obsolete iPads.
Now, a new variant of the iPad 4 is set to populate the shelves of Apple’s online portal and official retail outlets worldwide, the latest member of the 9.7-inch iPad family is still essentially the same as its older siblings albeit, it comes with a significantly larger internal storage space, 128 gigabytes to be exact.
Like with most Apple products, the larger memory will certainly come with a coma-inducing price tag, the 128 gigabyte WiFi only version will set you back a whopping $799, the WiFi + Cellular version will cost $929 — just add a couple more Benjamins and you can already purchase an entry-level 11-inch MacBook Air that sports an ‘Ivy Bridge’ Intel Core i5 processor underneath its hood alongside a full-sized keyboard and a full-fledged Mac OSX desktop operating system.
The Apple iPad 4 sports a 9.7-inch Retina IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels and boasts the iOS 6.1 mobile platform which is powered by the Apple’s custom dual-core A6X ARM-based processor. It packs 1 gigabyte of RAM, comes in 16/32/64 gigabyte versions alongside the aforementioned 128 gigabyte option and supports Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi a/b/g/n, HSPA+ and 4G LTE (in some models).
