Apparently, Electronic Arts is already accepting pre-orders for the new SimCity 5, the latest addition to the SimCity series, but what’s missing is the downloadable version for Mac computers.
For starters, the new SimCity 5 is the upcoming sequel to Will Wright’s phenomenal city-building game, but compared to previous releases, the fifth installment will offer a more “realistic” city building game with metropolis and multiplayer support, apart from new graphics with support for displaying realistic street traffic.
On the game’s site, Electronic Arts is already taking pre-orders, but the company does not offer the Mac version yet, or even its DLC or downloadable version. According to PC Mag (not updated yet), EA will launch the Mac and PC versions via EA’s Origin online store, but it looks like the Mac version is not ready to take early birds at this point.

Sim City 5 offers a “breathing” city. Coming to PC and Mac this quarter, but where’s the Mac DLC version?
Unsurprisingly, even Amazon is not offering pre-orders for the Mac variant too. On the popular online retail stores, only PC customers can pre-order the downloadable version of the new simulation game. Amazon retails the software for $59.89 per copy and will open the gates on March 5th, 2013 at 12 PM Pacific time, the game’s official release date. So where’s the Mac downloadable version?
On the official website of EA, the new SimCity is priced $59.99 and a ” digital deluxe” version is also available which will include expansions and add-ons that will enhance the game play such as superheroes and foreign cities.
